The A50 model is world wide known as to be the best gaming-oriented headset. Actually, take my word for granted as this is by far the best headset ever made. If you are a casual gamer the price will definitely hit you hard and probably turn you around towards cheaper models or other manufacturers. But you are looking into an investment that will turn out to be the best headset you ever had then don’t look any further.
What I truly love about the A50 is it’s simplicity. It’s an extremely durable headset, with metal accents complementing some hefty plastic bits. The left ear features a Micro USB port for charging and an audio-out for Xbox One chat, while the right ear has a volume roller, power switch, and built-in equalizer. The headband is fitted with a really comfortable cushion that will not make your head skin hurt from extended gaming hours. The design itself shouts out that this model is costly, and that it packs a heavy puncher.
The ear pads are covered with a very comfortable foamy material that really makes the A50 fit nice and firm. The only negative aspect is that it tends to warm my ears a little bit more than usual. To be honest though, I have had a far worse experience with the Steelseries Siberia 800 and the Turtle Beach Elite 800x.
The A50’s grip is so firm and smooth that you can head bang without worrying that you it will fall of your head.
A50, a 7.1 Surround Masterpiece
The sound quality of the A50 is absolutely astonishing. Almost like every other gaming headset in the market it packs a serious bass. However the built-in equalizer which offers the user three different presets is a very easy way to navigate through the best possible setups-whether you are a FPS player or a racer for instance. The big ear pads allow the user to distinguish easily all the separated sounds, it really helps in orientation in the game and understanding the surrounding environment as they provide a good sense of space.
The microphone is simply majestic. Many of my online friends keep on reminding me that I sound weird while using them as if I was floating in space due to the fact that my voice sound perfectly clear. It is loud and the quality is unreal. The noise cancellation might cause some trouble as it tends to keep your voice level low but that is fixed once you bend your mic a bit closer to your mouth. There is no other mic out there that is as precise as the A50’s, period.
Destroying the competition
Undoubtedly the A50 is the best gaming headset out there and definitely among the best headsets overall. But the high price is definitely a no for many casual gamers. The A50 is not for everyone’s pocket but it is not for everyone’s needs either. If you are a looking for a cheap- good headphone then go look at Turtle Beach’s models, or even the HyperX Cloud Series. But they are not even close to A50’s supremacy on all aspects. The impedance this heavy hitter packs speaks for itself.
If you have the money for it, don’t hesitate. It is the best gaming headset you will ever have and you will never change it for anything inferior.
